Completed Project
An exploration of contrast, texture and contemporary alpine living.
Set within the dramatic landscape of Queenstown’s Kelvin Heights, Springhill Residence is an exercise in bold architectural expression and refined restraint.
Designed by Ben Hudson Architects, the residence is defined by its sculptural forms and striking material palette. Monopitch rooflines create a commanding silhouette, while dark metal cladding, natural schist and warm timber establish a dialogue between contemporary architecture and the rugged alpine environment.

Location & Lifestyle: Peninsula Hill, Kelvin Heights
Internally, the narrative shifts from raw architectural strength to a softer, more intimate expression of luxury. A moody, textural entrance sets the tone, unfolding into light-filled living spaces where natural stone, rich timber and carefully considered finishes bring warmth and sophistication.
A deliberate play on contrast carries throughout the home. Dark against light, texture against simplicity, bold architectural gestures balanced by refined detailing. Bespoke joinery is integral to the interior experience, from the beautifully resolved kitchen to two individually appointed master suites, where custom dressing spaces and intricate detailing elevate the everyday.
There is a quiet confidence to Springhill. Nothing feels excessive, yet no detail has been overlooked. Every material, junction and finish contributes to a cohesive architectural language, where craftsmanship and design are inseparable.
A home of contrasts, where raw materiality meets considered luxury.
